I am 42 with a 5 y.o son. I moved to Sioux Falls from CA in Aug 2006. When my son was born, I stayed at home with my son until he turned 2; then I had to go back to work. When we moved to Sioux Falls, I worked PT at 2 jobs; I am currently at CNA Surety as a FT employee.
I haven't made any friends beyond co-workers (only M-F) and occasional chats with the neighbors and a few other people at Michael's, swim classes, hair salon, etc. I am really lonely and would like to meet other women to eventually become friends. It would be so nice to be able to chat with someone about kids, school, work, in-laws, etc and maybe see a chick flick or window shop, meet for lunch etc. I am shy and reserved at first, but once I am confortable with someone, I turn into a chatterbox and can (do) at times monopolize the conversation (sorry in advance).
It would also be great for my husband to meet other men so that he can have friends. Ever since we left CA, only 2-3 friends keep in contact - basically birthday and Christmas.
I hope to hear from some new friends to be... it might make the winter go faster when I have someone I can call once in a while...
