Some kids don't like the tste of Carmex but it wouldn't take too long to lick off either? Did your dentist have any suggestions?

ok, call the dentist never crossed my mind but what an awesome idea...maybe they can give me an idea that will work to get her to stop sucking her bottom lip
God Bless
I called her dentist and they referred me to her ped dr., and her ped dr was shocked because she said they would be the ones to maybe create some sort of mouth/bite guard for her at least until this habit breaks. If the habit ever breaks...they also said she may be doing it more now because we are always telling her to stop sucking her bottom lip!
Anyone got any other ideas?
We have tried the carmex, that didn't work because just as posted before she just licked her lip enough for the carmex to come off.
I don't want to try hot sauce as they probably wouldn't work plus I think it is a little extreme!
God Bless
haha my daughter LOVES carmex...its the craziest thing...if she sees a tube she will SCREAM thinking she has to have it...and not with the lid on...she has to have the lid off and she will put it on her lips and eat it...its so gross!

Ok, so it started around last Oct. she was just a little over 2yrs old. We have tried everything that we could think of to get her to stop! She just turned 3 today and she is still sucking her bottom lip, URG!!! I also realized that by her sucking her bottom lip she is pushing her bottom front teeth back.
HOW CAN I GET HER TO STOP????
If we ask her to take it out, she hides her face (thinking if we can't see it, then she is ok)! If we force her to stop sucking on her bottom lip she ends up throwing a fit.
I do not want to have to deal with a large dentist bill in the future, but how can I get her to stop? Is there something I could put on her lip to make her not want to suck on it?
Thanks
