My hubby and I are HOOKED..especially UFC we go to Rookies and watch EVERY fight!! There is one woman fighter (not UFC) her name is Gina Corano (not sure if that's spelled right) she's also CRUSH on the American Gladiators...she ROCKS..she's such a powerhouse!!!
ESPN did a piece on Gina and they came to sioux falls to interview Shayna Bazler. She is a top ranked female fighter that trains and teaches here. She is one of the trainers at Next Edge (www.nextedgeacademy.com)

Shayna is a great fighter. I used to work with her at gigglebees and i think she can go really far. I loved that on her last fight (i think it was) she kept on her roller dollz hat and not the mma hat i thought that was just awesome showing some hometown love.

We rented the fight as well. I thought that the forrest/rampage fight was outstanding, it was of the best fights I have seen.

"Fan" is probably a strong word, but I definitely have an appreciation for MMA that seems lost in this town where they think cagefights are smoke-filled sin-fests. *sigh* I do watch with hubby (when he's not in Iraq) and he is convinced that our oldest is going to do MMA and be the next Gladiator/Cagefighter/Ninja Warrior. :)
I never watched it before until it was on one night on CBS in the evening. They had a women's fight, another fight & then the one between Kimbo Slice and that Thompson dude from England. OMG that was so gross when that guy's ear busted open! I really enjoyed watching though!
My husband and I love to watch as well, we have missed the last few ppv because of obligations and such, but when the Cage is in town and has fights we go to watch and always watch on spike, even the reruns are fun to watch. We allow our older children to watch as they know it is a sport and not ok to just fight someone, etc. But we absolutely love it.
Next Cage Fights here are on August 16th. There is going to be a celebrity MMA guest again. Last time the guests were Robbie Lawler (mma), Mike Miller (nba) and Chad Greenway (nfl). We sat at the table behind them.

My dh and I used to go to the cage fights here in town...back when it first started and was at the armory at the fair grounds...back then it was like NO seats..everyone had to stand..and it was a little...rough..we haven't been for a few years but I've heard that now it's pretty fun!
We are huge UFC fans. For Dan's bday and Father's Day I was going to surprise him with tickets to the Aug 9th show in Minneapolis but his best friend couldn't afford to go and I couldn't afford to pay for 2. So I'm going to order PPV and have some people over. I love Roger Huerta and Diego Sanchez!!! Of course Forrest too! Ooh I forgot Georges St Pierre!

Just wondering if there are any other MMA fans out there? I'm looking forward to the ppv on Saturday, the fight card is outstanding. Any one else renting / going to watch somewhere?
