Hey, how crappy!! OK, so how much do you want to pay a month? I know there is 2-3 bedroom twinhomes for rent right near 57th and Cliff. Neither of those two are not on siouxfallsrental.com...but there are a lot of great places on there too! Also lovemyrental.com has some good places. I will keep my eyes open for signs in yards for you too! Let me know if I can do anything to help. I am a single mom too and I know the frustration!
Oh yeah...there also was a 3 bedroom duplex just west of 33rd and grange. It is a brown brick place on the north side of the road. It used to just have a sign in the yard. It sounded like a great place when I called on it but they wanted like $950/month for it.

I just wanted to throw something in here quick...I don't know of a lot of rentals, but I was wondering if you had the back copy of the money order or proof that you purchased it. I don't know for sure, but I think that they (whoever you purchased it from) can find out where and how it was cashed. And I would honestly tell your land lord that you are staying until you find a nice place and that they can take you to court if they want to. Is it even legal to kick someone out just for not paying their rent one time? I would contact an attorney maybe to see if you have any legal stance.
Yes, non payment of rent is cause for a 3 day eviction by law BUT it is hard to get someone out if they wont go and costs quite a bit of money for them to go through the process.
The MO receipt would be verification that you at least purchased it and is a good option to show proof of that, they can track it but it takes 30-60 days at the place you purchased it.

They cannot actually get you out in 3 days. If you stay, they have to go through a bunch of legal stuff to evict you. It will cost them around $500 to get rid of you. lol.
Hang out dont move out. Start looking and find something for a month or so down the road but I think they have to actually take you to court to get you out of the apt.
They do. We recently bought an apartment building with a tenant that gave the former owner 1st months rent, and nothing after that. She hasn't paid rent for several months...AND..she never signed a lease. She is technically a "squatter". You wouldn't believe all of the work, and cost involved in getting rid of her. And this chick has kids. How do you rent an apartment and just never pay rent??? Apparently she knows the "system" I don't understand some people. Ugh.
OH that sounds so much fun....But i would think as the new landlord you can go in and have them sign the new lease and if they dont they have so many days to leave? Its like a daycare if i dont accept the terms I can leave or my credit card company if I dont agree with their new terms I can cancel the card and continue to pay it off at the same terms I orginally signed up for.
She purposely dodged signing the former landlords lease, and had not paid him rent for several months when we bought it. We wouldn't want her to sign a lease with us. She just needs to go. We even offered to let her just walk away, and not go after her legally, if she would just go. She refused, so now we have to go after her. So ridiculous.

I'm looking too so I can't help much (if anyone knows of a 2 or 3 bedroom 2 bath for $700 or less let me know, MUST have washer/dryer hookups) but the duplex attached to mine is open...I know it has a larger kitchen than ours, 1 bath and it has 2 decent sized bedrooms and 1 very small bedroom that I classify as an office or nursery sized room....the basement on our side leaks (which is why we want to move), the other side DOES NOT leak as they have landscaped it away from the house (supposed to do that with our side and put gutters up but it hasn't been done yet), washer dryer hookups are in the basement...they just painted it last week, there is a deck off the back door, we share the backyard and that side kind of has a shared driveway with the next door neighbor but it's plenty wide enough to share. We pay $700 a month and paid a $500 deposit, he furnishes garbage and the mowing service, he is also good about repairs like the fridge and stove...dryer hookup, heat, water and stove are all gas. NO dogs or cats allowed, small caged animals and fish he is ok with and he isn't a huge stickler on the credit report like some apartments are (which is why we are here to begin with, we were denied an apartment for very OLD stuff on our credit report even though I could show legal verification of $4000 income a month!). We are 2 blocks from Terrace Park, let me know if you need the info.

I know there have been discussions on this before but I really didn't find any answers on the other thread. I am looking for a new place to rent with atleast 3 bedrooms. I am living in a townhouse right now and most of you know my issues with my neighbor. Well now tonight some lady dropped off a paper saying that I need to move out within 3 days for non-payment of rent. They started not accepting check anymore so our rent either needs to be paid by direct deposit or money order. Well since my bank is in MN I pay by money order. I dropped my rent off but apparently they haven't gotten the money order so I am assuming somebody is just a little bit richer after cashing my rent payment. Not sure how they can expect a single mom with 3 boys to move out in 3 days. I haven't had any luck on argusleaders classifieds and looking at kelo's right now but no luck there either. Where else is there to look?
