I saw this on the news last night and also read the article on Keloland.com. It just saddens me really that this girl is 13 and they say 11,12,13, etc year olds doing this. ELEVEN YEARS OLD OMGosh!!! What is this world coming to seriously. Also she was drinking alcohol, at 13. I just wonder what kind of parents she had? Were they the really good caring ones? Or were they really bad ones? I mean nowadays sometimes it seems like it doesnt make a difference how good the parents are. I'm raising my son in church, and will try to instill the best in him, but i mean seriously it seems so hard to deter these kids because of other kids. I have quite a few years before my son is that age, but whats it going to be like then? I worry about that! Just scares the crap out of me and I'm seriously thinking of taking my son and moving to the mountains in a little log cabin where we grow our own food in a garden and I learn to hunt!!!!!! ha

EASY money from home!
well, if it's the same girl...i know one of her cousins. it is a horribly sad story and my heart goes out to them. but yes, i don't understand where parents arent' catching these things. i never understood the "benefits" of huffing. you get lightheaded, feel like crap...so do more so you are lightheaded again. at least i think that's how it works. i heard she was in a coma.
even though i dont' agree with what happened, i am certainly going to keep them in my thoughts.
i know they'd appreciate it.
I can tell you from personal experience, it has nothing to do with the parents. Im going to be 18 soon and when me and my friends were that age we were out doing all the 'naughties'. We all had different types of parents too. Yet we were all still out drinking and yes we all went out and bought air duster to do the "huffing". The feeling was exciting, so we kept doing it. Almost every night we got out, or even in the car in a parking lot. Until one night I went from taking a huff out in the street to waking up inside the house with everyone around me. Its the harsh reality but when you're young you dont think anything can hurt you so you keep doing it until it does. I used to go out everynight and party and drink with my lovely 1.8 GPA until I got an underage and was hit with a reality slap that I just totally messed up my freshman year.
I hate to scare all of you to death but this is eventually going to happen to your kids. Luckily I realized my mistakes before I got into more dangerous things like X or coke and yes they are around and you can get them. Our world may not be as dramatic as the movies you see on TV but its pretty darn close. Wish you all the best of luck lol.

I know I posted on this topic awhile back but I just wanted to put this reminder out there. How scary is it that this stuff is so easy accesible for teens and young kids even to get ahold of???
