My two munchkins are 4 and 1 1/2. We just got my 4 yr old enrolled in a 3 day zoo camp and plan on doing the swim lessons offered by the city, both sessions. I have been looking into stuff they can do and haven't found too much yet, besides karate and gymnastics. Most other fun things are offered during the day, and I don't have a van to transport all the daycare kids. I was SO mad that I missed the teeball signups!! What else is out there??
There is a 2nd tee ball session that runs through July. You can still register for that.
The Cake goddess - Cakes for all occasions, desserts and cookies, too!
My 9 year old son plays baseball. My daughter wants to do everything but we limit her to dance (ballet, tap & jazz), Girl Scouts, ice skating lessons in the winter. I missed the deadline for signing her up for softball this year, but she is involved in so many things during the school year we thought she should take it easy this summer.
My youngest son is in tee ball. All 3 kids will do Leif Ericson, the older 2 will do the Totus Tuus camp at church, and they all will do one session of swimming lessons at Augie.

Our 9 year old son participates in Jr. League Football, Y-Ball basketball, Little League Baseball and any and all camps that have anything to do with these sports. Dakota State and SDSU hold some great camps in the summer. If any moms know of any other camps please pass them along as this is the age where they soak it all up like a sponge. As long as he is wanting to participate we will continue to support him in athletics. He will be continuing with swimming lessons in a couple weeks. He participated in cub scouts but didn't like it at all. He hunts with my husband and since we camp all summer he gets a ton of outdoorsy"ness" with the family.
Our 6 year old daughter will go to Volleyball and Basketball camps that our high school puts on and she is doing a summer cheer program in Brookings.
Our 4 year old daughter will be accompaning me on all the carpooling we will be doing this summer keeping up with the other 2.
They will all go to vacation bible school this summer and we are hoping to make it to a couple of the Zoo Camps. You run out of time to squeeze it all in and still manage to get some relaxing family time.
Go Flyers!!!
My 12 year old does softball, basketball, band, Girl Scouts, and in the summer goes to camps for these things, too. My 9 year old does softball, soccer, basketball, swimming lessons, theater camp, and camps for softball and basketball. My 8 year old plays ball in the summer, does Cub Scouts, swimming lessons, golf and Cub Scout camp. The 4 year old and 2 year old are not involved in activities yet (thank goodness!!) but their time is coming...Nick is excited to do soccer this fall, and can't wait until he is big enough for football. He says he would like to play hockey, too, but I am not prepared to be that devoted! They all also do Vacation Bible School and we look forward to July as it is the true beginning to our summer as we spend all of June running to ball games! It is such a challenge to help them find the things they love without over-scheduling! My 9 year old would do EVERYTHING there is if we would let her, so we do lots of limiting with her, even though looking at her list, it doesn't look like it! Some days I wonder how I will keep my sanity when they are all 5 involved in things, but somehow we make it work. Lots of days it involves some creative carpooling with friends, but it all works out!
My 8yr old daughter does: Ballet, Hip Hop, Cheer, Tumbling & Pageants! She is an active child and loves her activities!!! During the school year we do have the rule that if she misses 1 homework assignment she is grounded from ALL activities for a week ~ which is pretty serious if you miss a week of team practice!
~*~ God only gives me what he KNOWS I can handle ~*~
my eldest daughter is no longer interested in organized activities (she's 15 and not into sports and "too cool" for other arranged activities)
my son plays Jr football (starts next week) in the summer, wrestling in the winter and softball in the spring, boy scouts year round.
My youngest daughter plays softball and wants to join a swim team (still need to look into details for that)

Dance class, music lessons, sports, pageants … there are so many things for kids to be involved with outside of school. What kind of activities and organizations do your children participate in?
