I'd love to join a MOPS group, but this time does not work for me. I've left messages at First Evangelical Free Church's group, but didn't get a call back. :( Anybody know of another group that meets a different time?
Gia,
I belong to First Evangelical Free's Monday night group and I love it. If you want to PM me your email address, I can email you the registration info and contact person.

Is there a Sioux Falls group? With four kids, I struggle to get everyone out of the house in mornings--trying to be in Brandon by 8:45am-would realistically just never happen for me.
I googled MOPS and on the website searched for local groups. Looks like there are a few in SF. Not sure how up to date the contact info is, however. ?
I know some of the moms in our Brandon MOPS group did belong to, and maybe still do, a MOPS group that meets at Central Baptist in Sioux Falls. Actually, if you email Renee at the address in the original post here, she would probably be able to help you with the contact information for the Central Baptist group. I hear you about the struggle in the mornings, but it has been so worth it for me! A great chance to connect with other moms and listen to some great speakers. My kids LOVE going to MOPPETS, too!
Does anyone know of a MOPS group in Harrisburg/Tea area?
*Update* I just talked to the coordinator of the MOPS group @ EFree(Mondays @ 6:30), and she was super nice. :) It sounds like so much fun! I think the location of this group is southern Sioux Falls. Anyway, here is the link to search to find contact info on groups near you. I plan on joining. http://www1.mops.org/web/web_group_search.php
Who watches the kids during child care? Are they in a separate area?
Preface: this may vary by group. The kids are in a seperate area down the hall and the program for them is called MOPPETS. The kids are in 4-5 different age categories, and there is a lead teacher for each room, and other staff in each room helping out. They do a craft, a snack, a bible story/lesson (Sometimes a story, sometimes a short video), and some time for free play. My oldest son (3) is always so proud of his craft, and what they learned. Our MOPPETS leader also gives you a sheet "What I did today" with questions you can ask your kids related to the lesson. I love talking to him on the way home - and am amazed at what they pick up at such a young age. In our group, moms can bring infants up to 4 months old in the meeting with them (they don't move or squeak much at that age). The program we have is very well organized, and seems to keep the kids entertained and engaged. Hope this helps.

The Brandon Charter of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has opened registration for the fall. Early bird discounts are available right now. The group meets Friday mornings 9-11a.m.(2x each month) from September through May. All moms with children age 0-Preschool are welcome. Childcare is provided.
A typical meeting: Childcare (MOPPETS)opens at 8:45a.m. so kids can get settled. They enjoy age appropriate play groups, a craft, snack, and lesson. The meeting for moms opens with breakfast and prayer at 9a.m. Most meetings involve a speaker on interesting and relevant topics. (ie. digital photography, marriage, finances, medical services for kids, etc). There is lots of time to visit and bond with other moms in the same stage of motherhood as you.
MOPS is an International Christian organization, and local groups are hosted by various churches. BRANDON MOPS is chartered through Brandon Lutheran Church. For more information about BRANDON MOPS, or to register contact Renee at renee@c-lemme.com. For more information about MOPS International go to www.mops.org.
This has been great for me, and my two kids love going to MOPPETS! I hope to see some of you there.
